Our design is a vibrant and colorful representation of a traditional Russian matryoshka doll, infused with the spirit of Dia de los Muertos. The top half of the doll features a detailed sugar skull face, adorned with intricate patterns and bright colors that evoke the festive atmosphere of the Day of the Dead. The bottom half showcases another skull, this time with a simpler design but equally striking in its boldness. The use of contrasting colors—bright pink, yellow, and teal—creates a visually captivating effect that draws the eye and captures the essence of both cultural traditions.
The inspiration for this design came from a deep appreciation for the rich history and symbolism of both the Russian nesting dolls and the Mexican Day of the Dead celebrations. We wanted to create a piece that not only honors these traditions but also brings them together in a unique and modern way. The result is a design that is both playful and meaningful, perfect for those who appreciate art that tells a story.
